Sybille - integrative physiotherapist and energy worker

Hello, I'm Sybille

I am an integrative physiotherapist and I am passionate about helping you reconnect to yourself through the use of a variety of energy work modalities.

Read more about how that happened below...

My Story

I have been interested in all things mind-body health since I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2011. I started working with patients with a wide variety of conditions and have always looked for the deeper reasons and connections underlying their physical challenges. Through the years, I watched as patients struggled to work through increasingly complex health conditions like chronic pain, autoimmune conditions and mental health challenges that severely restricted their capacity to heal physically. As I came to the limits of what my work could do for them, I learned to trust my intuition and let it guide my treatments more and more, and started breaking through some of those limits.

I developed a mind-body approach I call FasciaWork, involving hands-on fascia release combined with sensory integration techniques, and this allows me to work more sensitively and more directly with my patients' own intuitive senses. I have been teaching this to physiotherapists and massage therapists for the last 4 years, and I have seen how approaching the body with more openness and allowing it more freedom to direct its own healing process leads to the release and integration of much deeper issues than just the physical. Working with highly sensitive patients and neurodivergents, as well as discovering that I am neurodivergent myself, has taught me how important it is to look deeper and think beyond just the physical. My interest and experimentation with energy work has evolved naturally out of this understanding.

As I continue to grow in the field of healing, I realize that the best place to explore the origins of physical and emotional imbalances is the most fundamental aspect of ourselves – our energetic system. When we become aware of the contributing factors to our physical challenges, we can release them much more readily. Although I have studied in the fields of Reiki and Jin Shin Jyutsu for humans and animals, and have a personal history in yoga, meditation, Tai Chi and Qi gong, my work with energy is a unique culmination of all the best parts of these practices, and I let my intuition guide me forward.

My energy work is focused on helping people build a deeper understanding of themselves, as well as helping them find simple ways to help themselves heal. I believe the future of healthcare is about learning to help ourselves through understanding and reconnecting to our natural selves, and working on rebalancing our fundamental energetic nature in order to affect healing in our bodies from the inside out.

Inspirations of Africa

I grew up surrounded by the Namib Desert on the south-west coast of Africa. My home town, Swakopmund, is wedged between the roaring Atlantic ocean and a vast peaceful desert and dune landscape. Our earth is home to some of the best crystals in the world, and a little further away the African bushveld is home to some of the most interesting and adaptable African animals. This primal sense of wildness that lives in the world around me has awakened my intuitive senses even more, and helped me understand the archetypal energetic currents of the world. We live within them - immersed in the natural flow that is so evident in our natural surroundings and yet feels so distant in urbanized and domesticated environments. I have been very fortunate to have grown up surrounded by these raw natural elements and they keep me grounded. Our wide open spaces have given me a deep sense of freedom and appreciation for the natural world, and I continue learning about its wisdom and our place within it.

Because we have such a close connection to the animal kingdom here in Africa, I have learnt to appreciate their wisdom and contribution to our lives. I have seen in my patients and experienced for myself what wonderful supporters our animal companions can be on our healing journeys and how much they can teach us about living naturally. I stumbled across Animal Communication while learning how to do energy work on animals and I find this can be a beautiful way to help our animals heal, to strengthen our relationships with them, and to receive some of their natural wisdom about life that they are more than happy to share.

I believe that Nature holds all the wisdom we need to heal ourselves and live better lives. When we connect to our inner senses – our intuitive connection to our own natural energy – we come home to our own natural selves and reintegrate with the natural elements around us. When we can be open to listening to the animals, they can help us come home to our inner nature.

Energy work is about awakening our inner senses and allowing ourselves to be part of the world again. As we allow ourselves to be guided by our intuition and follow our hearts to what lights us up most, healing becomes a side-effect of creating meaningful experiences for ourselves and live the life of our dreams. All of my energy work modalities support this fundamental concept - reconnecting and returning home to the Nature within and around us.
